anarchist knitters

i want to learn to knit. i don't know why exactly...it just seems like a good way to pass the time. with the added bonus of producing something. i love doing anything where i have something tangible when i'm finished, and i can say, "look...i made that." it's probably just the good american in me longing to keep busy and produce something useful, but i'd prefer to think it's all my repressed creative energy bursting out in strange ways. sure it seems like something your grandmother would do, but what the hell? maybe it will help balance the more immature aspects of my being.

i wanted to find some kind of knitting related picture to post here for my visually stimulated and illiterate friends, and i stumbled upon this and couldn't resist. a little background information to increase the relevance... my friend tamara is convinced that i'm an anarchist. i've never really thought of myself as anarchist, but tamara swears that i fit the bill. she discovered this through extensive research (watching The Anarchist's Cookbook and reading Steal This Book), and she cannot be persuaded otherwise. anyways, i figure if i have to be an anarchist (and apparently i have no choice in the matter), then at least i can be a knitting anarchist. that sounds harmless enough, right?

There's nothing better than a gang on anarchist knitters! They, and only they will bring about the fall of the government with their soft, woolen socks and scarves of destruction. Anarchist Knitters UNITE!

That should be "of", not "on"

-a young republican whose typing skills have already been fouled by the delectable goodness that is mittens!
